Electrical engineer/PM required for immediate start

Location: Holland

  • Must have SMSTS
  • Responsible for the health, safety and well being of all operatives on site.
  • Ensure pre-construction deliverables are met including compliance with all current standards, specifications and local authority requirements.
  • Produce and manage installation and commissioning programmes.
  • Interface and co-ordinate with all aspects of construction activities to ensure works are completed correctly.
  • Monitor quality of installations, rectifying and closing out defects where applicable.
  • Ensure close out and handover of projects are in line with practical completion requirements.
  • Oversee production of tender event schedules and contribute to procurement of sub-contractors, specialists and suppliers.
  • Engage and manage all contractors and specialist contractors until completion of projects.
  • Establish key relationships with the client and other key stakeholders.
  • Set up regular and clear lines of communication to address issues, which may arise.
  • Set up and chair regular site progress meetings and report on weekly project and commercial progress.
  • Ensure project programme is kept up to date.
  • Agree key responsibilities and manage and develop the team to ensure objectives are met and staff are supported and motivated. Assess resources available on a regular basis and bring in additional support/specialist expertise where necessary.
  • Establish and monitor appropriate project operating procedures and systems, specifically ensuring management plan is being followed and adhered to.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring safe project working practices are adhered to for all site personnel.
  • Ensure project Health & Safety plan (CDM) is in place prior to the undertaking of any construction work.
  • Manage, monitor and co-ordinate all key aspects of the project, including but not limited to, cost, value, risk, logistics, neighbour relations, safety, quality, M&E, design and environment.
  • Ensure close out and practical completion schedules are completed and issued.
  • Ensure that projects are designed in accordance with standards agreed with the client and delivered within agreed procedures.
  • Ensure that my team is aware of current professional/technical standards.
  • Interpret briefs and prepare feasibility studies and design schemes for agreement with the client.
  • Manage the preparation of detailed drawings and specifications to enable the agreed design to be constructed.
  • Brief and monitor the work of other professionals in order to co-ordinate specialist work successfully into the project.
  • Authorise sub-contracts and additional items of work by the issue of ‘Instructions’ to ensure that budgetary and programming restraints are met.
  • Check the work of contractors on site against the standards and quality required by the specifications.
  • Agree valuations prepared by the Quantity Surveyor are acceptable and to administer the terms of the builder’s contract with the client to ensure that effective and equitable decision are reached.
  • Ensure that appraisal/development processes are followed.
  • Manage and assist where required the estimating process for new projects.
  • Complete contract reviews for new projects and issue contract commentary to the client in order to agree on a mutually agreed document.
  • Issue letter of intent, purchase order and sub contract acknowledgement letters to allow us to commence under our standard terms of business.
  • Represent the business at all times in a professional manner leading and supporting internal, customer & supplier meetings
  • Manage and demonstrate appropriate Health and Safety leadership to operate at all times with regard to the Health and Safety of Employees and third parties, ensuring consistency with company and statutory obligations.
  • Accountable for the delivery of projects, to agreed gross profit targets, in accordance with company objectives, whilst ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • To coach, support and educate colleagues with process and the implementation of commercial best practice
  • To authorise sub-contracts and additional items of work by the issue of ‘Instructions’ or variation orders to ensure that budgetary and programming restraints are met.
  • The current areas of work are within the UK and throughout Europe with a small involvement in the USA
